Nice old hotel that has...

Liked: The room we stayed in was comfortable and a really generous size. We ate in the restaurant and food was very good along with the service. Bar area was also comfortable and outside area was a nice touch.
Disliked: There seemed to be a plumbing issue with a blocked pipe that the bath water didn’t drain freely and was pushing all the stagnant water back up into the shower tray. The smell was horrendous and could well have been sewerage water coming up. They did try and rectify it straight away but unfortunately the smell did linger and no attempt was made to clean the shower tray for us that may have been contaminated with bacteria. We didn’t make a big deal of it to be fair and on checking out, the member of staff indicated that he would take money off the bill but had to put the room and food charges through separately. When we checked the bill when we were outside in the car, no money had been taken off. Quite misleading and devious we thought to do this.
