The Spotlight on The Four Seasons Hotel

Lochside Calm Meets Highland Sound

A peaceful and scenic base for music lovers, The Four Seasons Hotel sits right on the banks of beautiful Loch Earn in St Fillans. This traditional yet charming hotel blends rustic Scottish character with breathtaking views of the loch and surrounding hills. With cozy rooms—some featuring four-poster beds—and a separate hillside chalet, it’s a tranquil retreat for concert-goers looking to escape the crowds and recharge in nature.

Why Concert-goers love it

Though tucked away in the peaceful Perthshire countryside, the hotel’s direct access to the A85 and proximity to the M90 motorway (less than 40 minutes away) make it easy to reach nearby venues in Crieff, Perth, and Stirling. After a night of music, guests love returning to the lochside setting for a quiet wind-down. The natural setting means very low noise levels, ideal for a restful night’s sleep. While check-in starts at 17:00, the relaxed atmosphere makes it easy to settle in, and free parking is a huge plus for those driving from gigs.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for a cozy, scenic base between shows
  • Solo travelers seeking a peaceful retreat after a high-energy concert
  • Couples on a romantic music-filled weekend getaway
  • Fans wanting a quieter post-concert recovery space with stunning views
  • Budget-conscious music fans who prefer value over city-center chaos

Food and Drink Options

The hotel’s dining options are a highlight. The Seasons View restaurant offers a full-day menu including steaks, pastas, seafood, and even afternoon tea—perfect for a relaxed post-show bite. During summer, the Tarken Bistro opens for more casual eats with traditional and creative dishes. While there’s no 24/7 room service, the variety and quality of food available on-site make late-night cravings easy to handle. Breakfast is served with a view, and it’s worth waking up for—even after a late night.

Nightlife Options

While the hotel itself doesn’t host live music, its peaceful location is part of the appeal. After an intense gig, unwind with a drink in the cozy bar or take a moonlit stroll by the loch. For those seeking more action, local pubs in nearby villages offer a friendly Highland welcome and occasional live folk sessions.

What People Say

Guests rave about the stunning views from most rooms, the friendly and helpful staff, and the delicious food served in both restaurants. Many highlight the peaceful atmosphere and say it’s the ideal place to relax after a busy day. The chalet rooms are especially popular for their elevated views and privacy.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests note that the decor in a few rooms feels a bit dated, and Wi-Fi can be spotty in some areas due to the remote location. Check-in at 17:00 is later than average, so plan accordingly if arriving straight from a concert or long drive.

The Bottom Line

For concert-goers seeking a peaceful, scenic retreat with hearty food and Highland charm, The Four Seasons Hotel is a hidden gem well worth the drive.

This hotel is located in...

Liked: The view and location are the big draw of this hotel, absolutely stunning. The lady who runs the hotel was very welcoming, accommodating and friendly. There was a good range of drinks at the bar.
Disliked: The price of the meals was perhaps a bit more expensive than we felt they warranted. Although very tasty, the portion sizes perhaps did not marry up with the prices.
