Very good stay overall, but...

Liked: The location was the best
Disliked: The music went on rather late, and kept me awake, I'm surprised its so loud as it is a residential location.

The Fort Hotel is one...

Liked: The room was the right size for a single person travelling alone and only staying for a long weekend. The building is close enough to the railway station, all the shops and restaurants, and not too far from the waterfront.
Disliked: There was a shortage of vegan options on the bar's menu. Their vegan curry wasn't so good. The only dish I did like was their vegan mixed-bean chili, but it was a little too spicy for me. They had no vegan starter or dessert on their menu. I tended to get a takeaway meal from one of the local outlets instead. The Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the bar was mobbed, so I didn't want to eat a meal there or even get a drink there during that time. Also, the football was showing on TV in the bar those days, and I avoided going into the bar during those times. (I hate football!) Also, not all the trains from Glasgow to Aberdeen stop at Broughty Ferry, so I had to change trains at Dundee on the way there and back, but that was no big deal.

Dissapointing

Liked: Location
Disliked: Noise was unacceptable for a hotel. Loud music from the bar until 1:45. Street noise until 2:15am. Our room (126) (and many others) were located on the floor directly above the bar. Nothing in the booking material we read warned of this and the cost of a what was a modest room was over 100 a night.
