This is a self check in room only property. Check in details will be sent to every guest within 2 days of their arrival date. All rooms are serviced daily and a team member is available by telephone for any inquiries or emergencies. On the East Lothian coast of North Berwick The Folly Hotel located opposite the West Links Golf Course. Dating back to the 1900s this former fire station offers a bar for guests and golf club hire. Within 5 minutes' walk of the town center and a 45-minute drive from Edinburgh it provides free Wi-Fi. Each room a flat-screen TV and tea and coffee facilities. All have an en suite shower. North Berwick has a variety of restaurants including Italian Indian Scottish Thai and Chinese within a 10-minute walk. This licensed hotel is a 12-minute walk from the Scottish Seabird Center and 20 minutes from Glen Golf Club with several other golf courses along this stretch of coast. The National Museum of Flight and the East Links Family Park are among the region's other attractions within 15-25 minutes' drive. Free parking is available opposite the property. The hotel provides a convenient stopover on the John Muir trail.

Very good

Liked: The receptionist was super friendly and helpful, the hotel is ‘homely’ if not a bit tired (it adds to the homeliness if you can look past the lack of ‘modernness’) and the bonus mini selection box in the room was such a nice touch.
Disliked: Nothing, it was perfect for what I wanted and needed. A comfortable stay in a beautiful part of the country.

What I expected. Comfy and...

Liked: how close it was to golf course and beach and shops
Disliked: had a great range of choice for breakfast in your room but maybe some healthier options would just give it even a nicer touch. there was greek yogurt though!

Nice location but scruffy overall...

Liked: Location is excellent. Room quiet but rather small. Staff were friendly and helpful. Shower worked OK.
Disliked: Overall, rather careworn and not really worth the cost. Lots of things did not work properly eg the toilet seat wonky, the TV only a couple of channels, holes in back of bathroom door, state of decoration poor. Towels weren't changed, toiletries not replaced and fridge not updated. No proper wardrobe so room got very cluttered. Hotel did not do breakfast.

Room goba quaint sea coast...

Liked: CONTINENTAL FOOD HAMPER IN BEDROOM.WITH REFRESHMENTS & SNACKS.FRESH PRODUCE.EXCELLENTLY CLEANVERY QUAINT ROOM & AT THE BACK SO THEREFORE VERY QUIET.MATTRESS VERY COMFORTABLE & SLEPTVVERY WELL.TOP CLASS BEDLINEN.LOVE ❤️
Disliked: Could have had a travel size airdryer & iron.I did notice another guest had requested(if you do don't you don't get!).

Happy in North Berwick

Liked: The welcome was lovely from the couple who were managing the hotel. It was small but deceptively well appointed. The breakfast in a basket was well presented and just what was needed, with the great little fridge. Location perfect. Parking easy.
Disliked: I liked it all.

That was a bit rustic

Liked: The location was good, we chose the family room as traveling with our daughter
Disliked: Single glazed windows meant we could hear each car driving past. And the slanted roof caught us a few times
