I would visit again
Liked: The rooms are a lovely size and the kitchen is well stocked so you can do lots in it. You are provided with tea bags, coffee, sugar and some milk for your first night. The beds are very comfortable and the room is clean. We weren’t there long enough to have our room cleaned during our stay so can’t comment on that. It is based in the middle of Belfast city so the location was brilliant, we walked to everything we wanted to do. It was all about 30 minutes walk. The titanic museum was an hour walk though as it’s on the other side of the city. Check in and check out was super quick.
Disliked: At check in (and about week before) we were told about this 100 deposit- it just doesn’t tell you that when you book and I think you should pre warn people as it can take money away from their trip!During our stay, we were woken up by the fire alarm, it went off for about a 15 seconds so by the time we were up and about to go down it was off. We looked at the window and in the corridor and no one was doing anything so we decided to stay and leave if we heard it again. It was just after midnight. I suffer with anxiety and I couldn’t sleep thinking maybe there is a fire so we rung the front desk as we were high up (at arrival we were told we could ring this anytime) no answer so we waited abit incase they had lots of calls and called again, no answer. My partner went downstairs then to check all was ok and the people on the front desk were chatting. Have a chat all you like as it must be boring but answer the phone if that’s your job. Also the next day I went to talk to the lady at the desk about it and she had no idea it happened, should they communicate these things? Throughout our stay we were in and out of the building quite a lot. The staff aren’t really too friendly, saying ‘good morning’ ‘good evening’ it didn’t happen once unless I said it first. I thought this was a normal thing for hotels to do as it does make guests feel more welcome. They could have asked ‘are you ok with your bag?’ When we arrived. We were given a card and sent off but luckily we were ok.I also think they should mention the work being done as it does start early, obviously it’s not their fault but a little acknowledgement that it could affect someone’s stay would be good. Lastly, the walls are very thin so it can sometimes get noisy. The welcome guide does say fines of 200 or something if you are too noisy but I think they’d have to fine everyone who spoke if that was the case. We just felt like we had to talk super quietly.
