Enjoyable stay with most staff...

Liked: Bed needs to be more comfortable. Shame about noise of HS2 traffic, particularly on first night.

Bar not open

Liked: Bar and restaurant were not open on the Tuesday we arrived. Came back from Aylesbury hoping for a night cap only to find the bar closed. This was 2230

A little bit of heaven

Liked: Can't fault anything, staff lovely, food to die for, room perfect and the locals so friendly.Will definitely return

Liked: Staff were brilliant. Very helpful and friendly.
Disliked: Wifi and reception was poor.

Disappointing

Disliked: The room was over-heated and over-fragranced. My room was overlooking the main road which was very noisy with traffic, both in the evening & early in the morning. I asked to switch room when I checked in at 3pm but was told it wasn't possible due to the hotel being fully booked that evening. I can understand this but given I was likely one of the first to check in, I was surprised that no effort was even made to accommodate my request. I was just told no. The bed was out dated and hard and the windows dusty and dirty. I have stayed before in one the garden rooms which I liked but the room in the main building was really disappointing

Liked: Nice friendly atmosphere and the food was excellent and the staff were very good it was a very nice cosy hotel.
Disliked: Tea and coffee making equipment inside a cupboard so difficult to see what you had and a bit tricky to use the kettle.Would of been better situated outside of cupboard.

Liked: The welcome from reception team !… Sally was lovely she was warm and welcoming. Our room was ready and she escorted us to it . The hotel was wonderful traditional and dressed for Christmas. Hotel ideally placed to visit the Manor! We loved also that we could eat our evening meal at the sister pub The Bow just up the road . Our breakfast in the hotel was great also .
Disliked: Nothing really - just a slightly bigger room ! But this time round it was only one night so it was fine .
