Liked: Very grand Victorian hotel with a lovely view of the sea.

Pleasant

Liked: Friendly staff, beautiful terrace. Exceptionally helpful groundsman opened the terrace doors in the bedroom which were stuck. Stunning views of the sea. Very nice pool and gym looked ok
Disliked: Tired decor, dozy girl on reception didn't answer internal phone so l had to go downstairs to ask for help opening terrace doors. She was talking to her friend and said she hadn't heard the phone.The staff we saw were very young - students l think - and lacked training and supervision.The flag on top of the hotel has totally frayed down to half of the Cornish flag. This was quite a good metaphor, somehow.

Liked: Excellent location close to the beach and within easy walking distance of town.Superb outlook over the sea.Very friendly and accommodating staff.
Disliked: Nothing!

Not the best

Liked: A good choice of Breakfast, full English and various cereal to choose from. Also toast if you wanted
Disliked: Although we paid to stay at the hotel, we couldn't eat there on the Friday evening due to a coach tour arriving. So we couldn't eat in the hotels restaurant, although we were staying at the hotel. Also early hours of both mornings of our stay, 03.30 hours the heating system kicked in and woke us up due to quite a noisy knocking sound. This noise lasted 30 to 45 mins on both days.

Liked: Better room than last time. Nice room and clean. Excellent view and location
Disliked: Had to wait a while to check out as only one person on reception and a queue of 4 people

For one brief night's stay...

Liked: The location.
Disliked: Room was clean but bland. Restricted sea view but hadn't come for that. Basic facilities. Staff were polite but distant, going through the motions. Breakfast very plain, served cold and not at all value for money. No interpersonal interaction from breakfast staff.
