Stunning property which was the...
Liked: Stunning property including the building and gardens, set right on Wailea Beach. Helpful staff, lovely rooms with great amenities including Le Labo products and Nespresso coffee. Great food choices on site with the 3 restaurants.
Disliked: More children with their families than expected for this type of hotel. We avoided the pool with the swim up bar because of this.

Overhyped huge convention hotel with...
Liked: The room (suite) size was very large. Our room was advertised (and priced!) as a suite with a "partial ocean view." THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO VIEW OF THE OCEAN POSSIBLE FROM ANYWHERE IN THIS ROOM!! (Room 205) From the far end of the large walk out patio you can see a sliver of ocean - but it is recognizable as ocean only because of its blue color - and that defining color is only recognizable as such certain limited times of the day - but at no time during any day will you will enjoy any sense that you are near the ocean or that your very limited view of it will provide any joy. This room and unquestionably others are very wrongly labeled as "partial ocean view" - this is a gross overstatement - but the charge is a significant and unwarranted upgrade.
Disliked: The hotel feels like a very large convention hotel and it feels managed for that purpose. The restaurant offerings are VERY limited and, as does the hotel in general, they have no soul. At no time will you enjoy an intimate experience at this behemoth. Way too few restaurant options. The small beach is a very long distance from the lobby and most of the rooms. Overall the feeling - very long walks down very long halls to get anywhere - is size over personalized service and warmth. There were a couple of conventions underway while we were there in late February 2025.

Liked: Beautiful grounds. Great little beach. Super smart friendly staff. Great food. Rooms are fantastic. Loved the place.
Disliked: Only complaint. I booked a garden view room that looked over a street with very little garden. Change was possible but not at reasonable price.

My 'ohana and I love...
Liked: Loved the on-property amenities, especially the Makana Cafe/Coffee Shop/Store. The beach in front of the Kea Lani is fantastic, the view of Kaho'olawe and Molokini is amazing, and the central location among all that Wailea has to offer is wonderful. The staff was, without exception, friendly and accommodating. Luz greeted us at check in then provided assistance throughout our stay. Great stay! Can't wait to go back.
Disliked: You need vegan options at your restaurants. I went to the podium at your breakfast/brunch buffet and was disappointed to learn that there were zero vegan options (other than fruit, which I already had plenty of in our suite).
