The Spotlight on The Evelyn

Stylish Art Nouveau Comfort in the Heart of NYC

Modern meets vintage at The Evelyn, a boutique hotel nestled in Manhattan’s trendy NoMad neighborhood. Just steps from Madison Square Park and within walking distance of major NYC music venues, The Evelyn blends early 20th-century charm with contemporary comfort. From its residential-style rooms to free WiFi and thoughtful amenities, this hotel offers a stylish and convenient base for your next concert night in the city.

Why Concert-goers love it

Location is everything—and The Evelyn delivers. You're just a short walk from major music hotspots, with the 28th Street subway station only 4 minutes away for late-night rides back after the encore. The hotel’s flexible check-out time of 12:00 PM lets you sleep in after a late night, and the quiet NoMad neighborhood provides a peaceful contrast to the city's bustle. Plus, the free luggage storage means you can keep the party going without dragging your bag around.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for a stylish home base near live music and nightlife
  • Solo travelers ticking off a bucket-list performance
  • Couples turning a concert into a romantic weekend
  • Fans needing a quiet recovery space after a loud show
  • Budget-conscious music fans who still want boutique vibes with free amenities

Food and Drink Options

While The Evelyn doesn’t offer late-night dining on-site, it’s surrounded by walkable eateries and 24-hour spots ideal for a post-show bite. Several local cafés nearby offer late breakfast hours—perfect for those slow mornings after a concert. Room service options vary, so check with the front desk for current availability.

Nightlife Options

You’re steps from some of NYC’s best bars and lounges, many featuring live music or DJs. Want to keep it low-key? The neighborhood is dotted with craft cocktail spots and cozy wine bars, ideal for winding down after a show.

What People Say

Guests praise the hotel’s unique vintage décor, quiet rooms, and exceptionally friendly staff. Travelers love the central location—close to iconic landmarks and venues—yet tucked away enough for a restful stay. The cleanliness and comfort of the rooms frequently get high marks.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests mention that rooms can be small, especially in older parts of the building—typical for NYC boutique hotels. A few note the lack of on-site dining as a drawback, though the surrounding area more than makes up for it.

The Bottom Line

If you're looking for a stylish, quiet, and well-located stay after your NYC concert, The Evelyn hits all the right notes.

The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was nice and roomy. Hotel staff was nice; the location is great!

Disliked: No closets! And the noisy renovations to the hotel. Only one elevator working.

Liked: Music notes in bathroom design is a nice touch. Downstairs bar/restaurant Location if you need to be around Mid townComfortable beds.
Disliked: I stayed for 4 nights with my mom, and I thought she would like it, but The hotel design is dark, and she didn’t. It’s very stylish, but you can barely see the floor number in the elevator. The room was very small and all grey, so if it’s rainy day it’s super dark. Free breakfast - is drip coffee/juice/tea and a croissant/overnight oats/1 type of yogurt. The breakfast area has kind of 3 tables. So, truthfully saying my mom was not impressed at all and thought that the hotel was cheap… But it was super expensive.

Evelyn exceeds expectations!

Liked: Lobby area and art deco styling. Our room was great, very comfortable bed. Communal areas all very clean. Decent gym. Reception staff always cheerful and helpful.
Disliked: Resort fee is something we haven't come across before, not sure why it isn't just added in to the room rate for transparency. The grab and go breakfast offer is very limited and no price list in the cafe even if you wanted to buy additional items. We understand that the Tusk bar operates as a separate business but that could have been made clear as there was no priority given to hotel guests and it was very expensive. Wine hour is a nice touch but serving warm Chardonnay is a crime.

Solid NOMAD option that is...

Liked: Location, staff, comfortable bed, quiet and functional temperature control in the room.
Disliked: Room layout was tight and a bit awkward. Bathroom was very small and not functional. No coffee in the room.
