The Evelyn

The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was nice and roomy. Hotel staff was nice; the location is great!

Disliked: No closets! And the noisy renovations to the hotel. Only one elevator working.

Not for families wanting to...

Liked: Excellent location
Disliked: We booked a deluxe double double, advertised as having a size of 23 m2. It was at best 15 m2 which is simply not enough for a family of four with luggage. Moreover, at the moment of our stay (April 2025) there was noisy construction work going on opposite and as the windows are badly sound-proofed, made sleeping after 7 am or so impossible.

Beautiful, central gem.

Liked: Very central location and very close to subway and bus stations, there’s a Whole Foods close by and a CVS that opens late in case you get the late night munchies! Staff is very friendly and helpful, true to the boutique nature of the hotel. The bakery was very delicious and the room had all the amenities we needed.
Disliked: Would have loved a more generous breakfast (you get one food and one beverage item per person per day) and if the rooms were a tiny bit bigger.

Other than room, all else...

Disliked: Booking . Com booked me into disability room (I don’t need this). Room was very shabby no place for luggage, no drawers for clothes, no shelves in bathroom for toiletries…..very very disappointed that Evelyn @ 400./nite should have such a room
