Great potential for a resort;...

Liked: First, we had a great time. I think the Eden has incredible potential to be a 1st class resort, they are working hard to do that; you're just not there yet.From my perspective, it's attention to detail; pure and simple. The room we were initially assigned didn't have a kitchen, despite booking a room with a kitchen and speaking with Julian about how your kitchens are equipped. Yet, we were still assigned a room, known not to have a kitchen. On top of that we sat around, clueless, for 2 hours. 2 hours for a room reassignment? I don't understand what the process was.I spoke with Julian about what type of coffee makers the kitchen was equipped with. Your photo on Booking.com shows a drip machine. Julian informed me that the rooms are not equipped with coffee machines however, they had both drip and Keurig machines; he responded he would make sure our room had a Keurig machine when we checked in. Neither room had a Keurig machine and we had to ask for one; the one delivered was not a Keurig. We didn't receive a Keurig machine until our last day, late afternoon.The room was very well appointed; kitchen was fantastic.If we do come back to Santa Monica in the future, The Eden will still be our first choice for accommodations.
Disliked: The TV service needs another assessment. Not everyone has streaming services; specifically Hulu does not allow the transfer of Live TV services when out of area. This can be an issue with just trying to see what the weather is, or local news or alerts. The TV was also locked out from AirPlay; meaning we could not AirPlay our Hulu from our phones to the TV. Annoying.The pool was great, bar service, not so much. The two margaritas we ordered had what appeared to be table salt, vice margarita salt, on the rim. There was so much ice in the cup, we probably received less than 5 oz's of actual liquid....pretty spendy glass of ice. Despite three people working the pool area, no one every approached us to see if we would like a drink, menu, or even just "hi, I am so&so; if you need a menu or something from the bar please let me serve you. Seemed like all the attention was directed to parties who rented the cabanas. Pool umbrella's are in poor shape and need attention.Most of the house keepers do not speak English; you need to know Spanish to communicate with them. Or use google translate

Liked: Location. Staff was phenomenal. The pool and hot tub area. Room layout and bathroom. Bed was very comfortable as well as the linens.
Disliked: No coffee machine in room. No ice machine available to guests (had to ask for ice). Stove had all the burner levels wiped off so had to guess. The dishwasher is to cheap and doesn’t clean dishes, had to hand wash them after a clean cycle. Our PIN code didn’t work but staff addressed a few times and gave us a key fab after they couldn’t get it to work which was very appreciated.

Liked: Staff, bathroom size.
Disliked: Average room, could have used fresher sheets on the bed. Shower head when using over sprayed onto the floor.

Liked: I had a truly wonderful 7-night stay at Eden Hotel. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed by the incredibly kind and attentive staff. Each person made the experience feel personal and special. The hotel’s quiet boutique vibe was exactly what I needed, offering a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere throughout. I especially loved the pool area - it’s the perfect chill-out spot to unwind and soak in the serene surroundings. Can’t wait to come back!
