The Eastern Hotel - Adults Only

Great stay!

Liked: I loved the place like it was honestly lovely, the staff were fantastic and was a great experience overall. I got left alone to do my thing too plus it was extemely clean too. After staying a day or 2 I booked a whole week... so cheers and thanks Eastern Hotel you rock!

Comfortable with modern features, well...

Liked: The room was large and nicely furnished, but there was only one heater that didn't warm the entire room which also had very high ceilings. The kitchen was well stocked and very clean. The bathrooms were also clean with plenty of hot water, but a heater in the bathrooms would have been appreciated. Also the kitchen and hallways were extremely cold and a heater is needed there as well. I can see the hotel has had a major renovation to update the features and the result is very pleasant and comfortable accommodation.
Disliked: It may not be doable (cheap) but ensuites in some of the rooms would be a great added feature, and more heating especially as this time of the year.

Railway gate noise too disturbing...

Liked: Cleanliness, bed
Disliked: Staff don’t answer calls and very cold with their responses via messages and not very accomodating. Shutters didn’t work properly, contacted the management about it for the next booking and they didn’t want to reply to that. Unfortunately should have read the comments before booking - they seem very unfriendly in their responses. Had to cancel the future three days worth of non-refundable booking after staying there for one night. Woken up many times due to railway crossing noise.

Exceptional

Liked: Again, the price is perfect for my reason of trave. Location is good.

Fantastic value for the price

Liked: Pretty good amenities for the price - full kitchen with oven and stove, electric blankets, roller shutters, etc. The walls were thick and the place felt quite peaceful. Convenient location, quick walk to the bus stop.
Disliked: Hot water takes a while to run up the pipes. The remote for the overhead light didn't seem to work, but there was a bedside touch lamp. Nearby trains were a little noisy.

It was too uncomfortable to...

Liked: We decided to leave as it was unbearably cold, dark and uncomfortable.
Disliked: The whole building was dark when we arrived. I had texted our ETA. The room was freezing cold with one small ineffective heater. The situation was so uncomfortable that we decided to leave and find accomodation elsewhere. Very disappointing experience.

Exceptional

Liked: The price, the convenience, close to train station. The Ballarat leagues club just a short walk for an exceptional meal at a reasonable price.
Disliked: The most unfortunate part was location for personal reasons but nothing to do with the accom itself.
