The Eagles Hotel

Overnight stay.

Liked: Lovely hotel,full of character ,very friendly staff..My partner and I stayed overnight.The breakfast was spot on, a full English and lots of it..
Disliked: We took our two dogs, when we arrived we were told it was another £20 for them.As we had paid in advance it came as a surprise that we had to pay for them.If they charge for dogs to stay why don't they tell you in advance..It would be helpful to tell in advance.Other than that,a very positive experience.

Passable

Liked: No problem booking or having a dog.
Disliked: Our room was supposed to be a deluxe room with a river view (I thought this would mean not overlooking the road). The tap did not work, the room overlooked the car park and road (you could see where the river was, but that was it), and the decor was lacking (missing draw handles, stains on ceiling, cracked tiles etc)

Cheap and cheerful but in...

Liked: The hotel is in a good location.
Disliked: As reflected in the price the hotel is an old building that's lacking investment and maintenance. There are some simple repairs that could be made. For example, the shower cubicle door wouldn't close and the shower head wouldn't stay in position as the locking mechanism was faulty. The water pressure was very low.

Disliked: Appeared short staffed

Disliked: Communal areas were tired and dated.

Good all round experience

Liked: Good food and service excellent location for what we planned to do
Disliked: As seniors bring on the second floor was nt ideal but staff helped us with our luggage on arrival

Disliked: Shower was so hot couldn’t turn it down lol ended up dipping bits of me in but apart from that all good
