The Eagle House Hotel

I enjoyed my short stay,...

Liked: Whilst the property from reception and the exterior looked like it need a little TLC, the same could not be said of the room. It had recently been refurbished and exceeded my expectations. The stay were also helpful when I booked in organising me an early check in.
Disliked: The heating was on which seemed unnecessary given the hot weather.

Friendly staff, nice room.

Liked: Spacious room, lovely view. Staff friendly and helpful despite being very busy. Helped us store our bikes in the function room. Our meal main course and starter were good and very reasonable.
Disliked: Pudding wasn't great and quite expensive.At breakfast the fruit and yogurt weren't out when we got there so we missed them.

Loved our stay at Eagle...

Liked: Excellent breakfast using local food producers.Staff were excellent, friendly and very helpful.The location is beautiful, lovely views and right beside the Castle. Our dogs were made very welcome.
Disliked: Choice of menu for lunch and evening was limited.

Exceptional

Beautiful historic building. Not ultra-modern...

Liked: Very friendly and helpful staff. They had responded to my specific requests made at the time of booking. Clean and comfortable room. Nice and warm. Comfortable bed. We ate at the hotel in the evening. Good service and reasonably priced food.
Disliked: Some traffic noise in the bedroom from the road, but not excessive. Shower tray very slippery - something to provide some grip would be good.
