The Spotlight on The Drymen Inn

Cosy Country Retreat Near the Action

Modern comfort meets rustic charm at The Drymen Inn, tucked away in the scenic heart of Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. Surrounded by rolling hills and countryside, this inn offers a peaceful, stylish base that’s still within easy driving distance of Glasgow’s top music venues. With warm hospitality, home-cooked meals, and inviting spaces like its glasshouses and log fire lounge, it’s a cosy escape for music lovers needing to unwind.

Why Concert-goers love it

Though it offers a tranquil setting, The Drymen Inn is just around a 45-minute drive from both Glasgow and Edinburgh airports—ideal for flying in for a big show. The countryside location means you’ll enjoy a quiet night’s sleep even after a loud gig, and with free Wi-Fi throughout, you can easily stream pre-show playlists or post-concert photos. The flexible 3:00 PM check-in gives you time to settle in before your show, and breakfast after a lie-in is a welcome bonus for post-concert mornings.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking to explore the area by day and gig by night
  • Solo travelers seeking a scenic base before heading to a bucket-list concert
  • Couples making a romantic weekend of a live music event
  • Fans needing a peaceful recovery space after a loud night
  • Budget-conscious music lovers wanting comfort without the city-center price tag

Food and Drink Options

Start your day with a hearty Scottish breakfast and wind down with seasonal, home-cooked meals served in the restaurant or the cosy glasshouses. While there’s no 24-hour room service, the inn’s dining options are perfect for a relaxed evening bite. You’ll also find nearby village pubs and eateries within walking distance for a casual pre- or post-show meal.

Nightlife Options

While The Drymen Inn doesn’t have on-site live music, its inviting bar and glasshouse spaces offer a great place to sip local drinks and chat about the night’s performance. If you're craving more nightlife, Glasgow’s vibrant bar and club scene is just a drive away—easy to reach if you’re heading back from a late gig.

What People Say

Guests love the warm, welcoming staff, the comfortable beds, and the peaceful location—perfect for recharging after a high-energy night. Many highlight the excellent food and charming atmosphere. The easy access to both the natural beauty of Loch Lomond and the big-city venues of Glasgow makes it a popular choice for music fans who like a balance of excitement and calm.

Areas for Improvement

While the inn provides plenty of countryside charm, those without a car may find transport options limited—especially late at night. Also, being in a quiet village, it's not the spot for those craving a buzzing post-show party scene.

The Bottom Line

If you're looking for peace, comfort, and charm after a big show, The Drymen Inn is a perfect countryside escape that still keeps you connected to the music scene.

Superb

Liked: The BEST PORRIDGE I ever tasted!! And the fluffiest pillows on the bed. Super friendly staff who are happy to share tips about anything. For dinner some signature dishes were not available anymore which just goes to show how popular they are. Definitely order a packed lunch if you're going up Conic Hill the next day!

Extremely loud music playing until...

Liked: I enjoyed my evening meal- vegetarian enchiladasThe staff were pleasant enough during any interactionsThe inn was central with a shop close by and parking a short distance awayThere was a nice selection of water, tea and coffee- although I didn't use most of itThe room was very compact but that was fine for a one night stay
Disliked: The room had extremely small over bed wardrobes that were useless for hanging anything in- they were too short even for a jacket to hang without getting crushed at the bottom.I also didn't appreciated being served the "sauteed vegetables" for breakfast which were in fact the exact same filling as had been in my enchiladas the night before- for £12 the breakfast consisted of the previously mentioned vegetables , a fried egg (I wasn't given an option of how I would like an egg prepared) mushrooms, one potato scone , and a grilled tomato breakfast probably cost around £1.50 to prepare. My biggest annoyance, however, was the noise levels. I had seen on the booking that there could be some associated noise as it was a busy pub so had planned and taken my ear buds to wear to drown out any noises (having stayed in inns/ pubs before I had a reasonable expectation)What I didn't expect was the noise level to be so loud that the floor was vibrating, I couldn't even hear the tv over the music, and even trying to wear noise reducing earphones to listen to music couldn't drown out the music coming up from the pub. There was also a seating area (?smoking area) outside the bedroom window so there was constant sing-a-longs going on from the outside area.I'm not a bah-humbug kind of a person but that level of noise was not was what suggested when I read the booking- just be honest and say- yep- if you were hoping for a 9.30pm bedtime because you were knackered from a full day of activity then don't stay here as you will not be able to get any sleep until about mid-night when the music goes off and all the happy pub customers make their way home.I took a recording of my tv playing while the music was going on and have shown it to several people who all agree that the level of noise was way out of order- even for a pub. I would definitely not have booked here if I'd known - I'd been as well sitting in the bar itself.
