Exceeded expectations

Liked: Fabulous location, lovely food and attentive, friendly staff. The only downside was not having a stand-up shower in the room but not a major issue to workaround (there was a handheld one).
Disliked: Nothing

Liked: My kind of hotel in a great location. Dog friendly. Evening meal was great and reasonably priced. Staff very friendly. Room was a bit small with a very low beam and im tall but cosy and very good value for money. Slept very well. Would stay again.
Disliked: Someone could have offered me a hand on arrival with my suitcase and bag as had i my dog in tow and several flights of stairs to reach my room. Had my evening meal in the bar as i had my dog and i felt a bit forgotten about - i had to find someone to order pudding.

Liked: The staff were exceptionally friendly.The evening meal - vegan haggis - was really delicious, and the veggie breakfast lovingly and expertly prepared.Montgomery Castle is a stone's throw away and a stunning (and free!) monument to 800 years of history, with wonderful views of the surrounding landscape.
