A very enjoyable short stay...
Liked: Our room was in a very charming old building (an old school house I think) out in the countryside on the Kent / East Sussex border. The room and facilities were excellent as was the breakfast too. The staff at The Dorset Arms were very friendly and helpful too. This is a great place to get away and relax and is a good base to visit the Ashdown Forest or Tunbridge Wells area.

Disappointing and overpriced accommodation and...
Liked: The waitresses at dinner were friendly and the manager helpful and considerate in trying to deal with problems that occurred. The location was quiet and had the setting pleasant.
Disliked: Evening meal - food was over priced and nothing special. The trio of puddings saved the day and were good. Décor needs an update and feels uninspiring. The plus side was there was plenty of friendly staff serving. We stayed for one night, and it was totally overpriced for the quality of the room and disappointing breakfast. In their room info they state the key ingredients for a great stay, amongst other listed items are 'TV, Wifi, a fantastic breakfast'. TV only had one channel (and couldn't be tuned by us or the staff) and kept disappearing. Wifi was terrible/non existent (constantly being logged off their poor quality network). Upon entering the room and for our whole stay the condensation was a real problem, with dripping windows and the blind was mouldy. In the bathroom the step up to the basin was missing the trim, leaving it rough and unsafe. The one saving grace was the Manager was apologetic and considerate in trying to make up for the situation. The breakfast the next morning, was disappointing and there was a dull ambience. All the tables had been set up for lunch with wine glasses. The breakfast was very standard with no variety, like we'd stepped back in time, totally uninspiring. Not a place to revisit for food or a stay.

Liked: Lovely little pub and accommodation, dog friendly, set in stunning grounds and using locally sourced produce. Highly recommended if you are in the area. There is lots of outside space in the gardens and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We had delicious Sunday roast and a very tasty breakfast on the Monday morning. We would definitely stay here again :-)
