Will not stay again
Liked: The location was perfect.
Disliked: The room was tiny with barely working bathroom door, broken hair drier, no hand soap. Half of the place closed for renovations? Nothing to explore on site. No kids activities. For $650/night I expected better. Will not stay at the property.

It’s a lovely place and...
Liked: We loved the location and the historical aspect of the Don Cesar. It’s such a landmark with a long history. We knew that the hotel had been closed for six months following the hurricanes so we were understanding. We liked that there were kayaks free for us in the mornings. They piano bar was nice.
Disliked: As I mentioned, we did try to be understanding that the hotel had been closed for sometime due to the hurricanes. However, on the website when we booked, it still stated that there were jet skis available. This was a getaway for my 53 birthday and I loved jet skiing. It wasn’t until the day we checked in that the front desk told us they hadn’t gotten their permit yet so there would be no jet skis available on property. That was really disappointing as it was one of the main reasons I picked the resort. One of the pools was closed. The restaurant still had not moved into its regular location. And the worst of all it was that there was construction being down on the property, which wouldn’t have been too bad, except the fact that they worked all day on Saturday and Sunday, so relaxing by the pool was pretty impossible. Also, there was no coffee machine in our room, so every time I wanted a cup of tea, we had to go down to the ground floor and buy it which ended up costing a fortune. It wasn’t until the final day that I asked for some where to get hot water that the front desk said oh you should have a coffee maker in your room and they gave it to me for that evening, but I was only able to use it once. It was missing the whole rest of our trip. We were there for three days.
