Lauren, Menifee, visiting House of Blues San Diego Sun, 19 May 2013

I chose this hotel because of it's location to downtown and because I thought the price was fair. The front desk was very rude upon my arrival. They couldn't find my reservation and looked at me as if it was my fault. It took 20 minutes for them to realize that they should call Booking.com. No apologies for the wait. Didn't inform me of an 'incidentals' or parking fee (I assumed there would be charges) and simply charged my card. TV in the room didn't work. Noisy at night. Upon leaving the hotel I asked for the bill to look over before my card was charged. I received rolled eyes and the front desk girl said 'You mean I can't just charge the Visa on file?'. These reasons sound silly but all added up and my interaction was rather annoying. If the price of the hotel was any higher I would have been super irritated.

Liked: Walking distance from downtown.
Disliked: The front desk staff was extremely rude.

This hotel needs to be...

Liked: Where do I start, how about check in when the man at the front desk was walkie talkie saying he believes there is a homeless person wondering around on one of the floors. Oh how about when my husband went to take his shower and there was hardly any hot water coming out. Wait when the one elevator stopped working and we had to take the steps to our room (thank God we were on the 4th floor) for us to get to our room and the room key not working. Yup we had to take the steps back downstairs to get a new set of keys. Lastly being charged $20 per person for breakfast and the electric went out were the waffle maker and toaster were hooked up (yup no waffles, toast or bagels) and had to wait 20 minutes for breakfast sausage that came up half cooked. I forget to mention the connecting door to the room that you can hear the people in the room having sex and talking loud. Lastly the lobby is being renovated. This hotel needs to be shut down and removed from Booking.com hotel listing because at this point, I will never book from Booking.com again if this is the type of hotels that y’all offer.

Disappointed to say the least.the...

Liked: The first night our room was sandwiched between two groups of young people who like to party. They eventually shut up at 1:45 am spoke to the desk in the morning. The guy was very helpful. He changed rooms for us which was great. Then that afternoon the lifts broke down in the morning. Only one was broken in the afternoon. Both were broken. This caused my friend to have to go up and down the stairs. 14 flights several times just to try and get answers. I was slightly panicked because I’ve had surgery and couldn’t get up and downstairs. The restaurant was closed with no notification so we were stuck needing to know what to do about food as we’d have to go down on the 14 flights again to get anything we ordered and on Uber thankfully they fixed the lifts and we could order some food but it wasn’t till about 830 at night. The hotel kindly gave us a free breakfast and compensation of what had been gone on the day before. However, there was very minimal food there and there was a big wait for it to come up from the kitchen there was no coffee. Toaster have broken down and the waffle machine was not working. So for our weekend away it wasn’t really that great. The best thing out of the weekend Was the really comfortable beds that the hotel has 10 out of 10 for that.

Not up to what it’s...

Disliked: There is only a valet option, for $50. But it’s only for one day. So, if I stayed multiple days, I would’ve had to pay for valet every single day instead of just being able to park my own car. When I got there, only one elevator was working and it took like 15-20 minutes to even get on it. When I left and came back, both elevators stopped working and I had to walk up 7 flights of stairs with my bags and a stroller. The room floor were dirty and so were the beds. And the phone in the room didn’t even work.

Whack.
