A wonderful location and fantastic...
Liked: What an amazing location. Excellent facilities and wonderful staff. A hotel which expects you to include your dog in your travels. Amazing
Disliked: I could not fault the hotel, the staff or the experience but it was a bit pricey. Our stay was to celebrate an important anniversary so I accept that I should expect to pay a bit more for the quality of the experience, but for me the difference in price against some of our regular choices was not matched by an equivalent escalation in quality, service or facilities. It was clear that this hotel stands above some of our more regular bookings but not by the margin indicated by the escalation in price.

Very good
Liked: We were looking for a dog friendly spa hotel and what a find this was! So many hotels say they are dog friendly but then have a lot of rules and don'ts. This hotel truly is dog friendly and what a location. Lots of beautiful walks and places to explore. We had the best time!

Exceptional
Liked: Everyone was friendly and welcoming. The property is gorgeous. The food was delicious. We had an hour at the spa which was perfect after a hike through the Valley of Desolation in the rain. There were snacks in the room upon arrival as well as a selection of coffee pods and tea with actual milk, not UHT stuff.
Disliked: The only thing that I could possibly complain about was that the coffee pods didn't have any labels. 4 colours with no way of knowing which was decaf or which was light or dark roast. Very very minor complaint that is barely worth mentioning.

Disliked: Didn’t like dogs in the dining room when I was eating!

Delightful stay
Liked: So many things, first impressions were of a delightful hotel with a log fire where we received the warmest welcome, our bags were then carried as we were shown to our room. The rooms was lovely and very clean with lovely views over the garden and hills. There were so many nice touches in the room short bread biscuits and Yorkshire crisps. There was a lovely bar/lounge area where we had coffee and returned in the evening for a night cap. The staff were helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The evening meal was also lovely in the Brassier with a good choice of meals. Our favourite part was the spa it was so relaxing and in a converted bar and was just fabulous. Also the wine and cocktail menus were great. Best 24 hours stay finished off with a lovely walk round Bolton Abbey
Disliked: Only negative was that although there was a wide choice of good wines they seemed over priced compared to other places we have stayed

Amazing stay with only a...
Liked: The hotel was beautiful , and the grounds were stunning. Staff were so helpful that nothing was too much trouble at all for them.Breakfast was delicious in the Burlington it felt little we had stepped back in time it was just beautiful.
Disliked: The rooms could have had a more luxurious feel with complimentary items given the star rating and how beautiful the rest of the hotel was. We did stay in a classic room, but l, I would have still expected a little more luxury. Things such as complimentary soft drinks and selection of biscuits would have been a welcomed addition. Other than it was a very lovely weekend.
