Very good

Great value, location & staff.

Liked: The best thing about this hotel was the amazing staff - very friendly and helpful. We arrived on bikes and they found a hose for us to wash them down and were happy for them to be stored in our rooms. Dinner in the restaurant was good and the service was over and above what we were expecting. And the same for breakfast. The hotel offered very good value for money and the location perfect for cycling the King Alfred Way.
Disliked: The bedrooms are a bit tired decorwise but clean and the beds comfortable. The price reflected this so no complaints on that front.

Lovely building, lovely location, shame...

Liked: Excellent location, just off the A3. Breakfast was excellent, well done Chef. The staff were very pleasant from the time we checked in and used the bar to breakfast service. The room was large but in need of repair and re-decoration, the bed was comfortable. A lovely building in a lovely location, just a shame about the general condition.
Disliked: The building is in need of a lot of general maintenance from the initial outside appearance which could be easily rectified with a good tidy up, to the staircase which was in need of cleaning and decorating. The room that we occupied was in need of work especially the bathroom which had cracked tiles and black mold in the grout. The general appearance of the bar and dining room was however good.

The hotel stay was okay,...

Liked: The hotel is in a nice area and was convenient for our plans on the Saturday night. The bed was very comfortable. The man on reception was also very lovely and helpful :)
Disliked: The hotel seemed a little old and things didn’t seem as up to date/ clean as they should.
