Disgusting hotel

Liked: Nothing, I have booked lots of trips with yourselves and have never seen any hotel in such a mess and the smell of mould. I'm absolutely disgusted that we had to pay for this, booking.com should at least offer some compensation.
Disliked: Rooms were disgusting toilet bowl full of limescale, stains all over the carpet and walls, and whole place smelt of damp and mould none of the rooms were like those advertised and unfortunately we had no other choice than to stay as all the family were staying there to attend a family wedding nearby. Would never stay again or recommend it to anyone.

Very Very poor service and...

Liked: I did not bother to ask for breakfast because the hotel was so unkept and I did not want to risk getting any form of food poisoning.Room was big enough and the shower room but it so untidy and next to zero cleanliness,. the study table in the room was lower than my knee hence could not use the desk. Bed - was comfortable enough.
Disliked: The whole hotel may need to have a very deep cleaning or just redecoration all together. There need to be a person available to attend to people at the reception desk, all through my stay, I met somebody at the desk without searching for the person, there was anybody available to help with checking out, even the contact number displayed at reception was not reachable so I had to leave my key on the table at reception.

Great location, but room in...

Liked: In a great location opposite the Devil's Punchbowl and very quiet at night. Easy to get to as near to A3. Clean sheets and towels and bathroom was clean. Shower was good. Reasonable price compared to other hotels in area. Nicely refurbished reception , bar and restaurant areas.
Disliked: Although the bar, restaurant and hotel reception areas appear to have been recently refurbished and look great, unfortunately the hotel side hasn't and doesn't! As soon as you walk through some double doors from restaurant side into corridor to rooms, it smells musty, there's stained carpet and the decor is really dated and tired and in dire need of refurbishment. Whether that's a plan for the future..not sure..but it certainly needs to be!The furniture in the room was very old and beaten up with lots of chips and scratches etc. There was a shelf for kettle and tea making which had 'bubbled' and peeled off veneer, a curtain was hanging off rail on one end, only one tie back. Windows were insecure with window closure part with a screw missing and handle with no notch in frame to go into, so wasn't locked properly.Bathroom was again old and tired with mould on ceiling and around toilet.Maybe this is all reflected in price but I expected it to be better.
