The Derwentwater Hotel

Tired older hotel in need...

Liked: Breakfast at best average, poached egg cooked to order was a saviour, rest was very ordinary.
Disliked: We had to move rooms twice, first room bed was too small. Second room, the floor sloped to one side, third room was far far better.

Good and bad in equal...

Liked: Very Friendly staff, great location, spacious rooms.
Disliked: Bathroom in apartment had deteriorated below what is acceptable.

Liked: Staff were great. Food was good. Location was where we wanted to be
Disliked: The entrance. Carpets. General appearance was very poor. Needs updating. I.e.carpet paintwork updated on ground floor

Excellent stay with friendly staff...

Liked: The position of the property. Also the friendliness of staff towards our Golden Retriever Lola
Disliked: When the bedroom curtains were open people from the street could see into the room frim the gardens . Maybe a net curtain on windows

Disliked: Parking could be a problem not on this trip

Cheap hotel but poor state...

Liked: Staff very attentive and friendly. Good WiFi
Disliked: Very old and tired hotel. Poor lift and lots of stairs. Charge for car parking. Room not cleaned during stay. TV old and could not access stations.
