The family-run Derby Hotel is located in the heart of Barrow-in-Furness less than half a mile from the Rail Station. Meets solid base standard

Liked: It's great that there is a kitchen and I like that guests are encouraged to use the cereal/milk etc. Everything also clean and the showers are good.
Disliked: Verging into feeling more like a hostel in that I ended up changing the bin liner in the kitchen and the dishwasher was full so not available. The ironing board is falling apart a bit but is still usable. They also ran out of milk so ended up buying some of my own. None of these things are the end of the world and the basics are covered but for the price I would hope for this stuff to be covered too.

Great for mid week short...

Liked: Good location, nice rooms, comfy beds, my room had a sofa which was great, kitchen and lounge for hotel guests to use with free milk/bread, nearby free parking
Disliked: Bathrooms were a little tired but still clean and everything worked.

It was a comfortable weekend's...

Liked: The shower was great, good power, good temperature, plenty of water. The bedroom was quite comfortable. The breakfast facilities were adequate.
Disliked: The car parking. We were told we could park overnight in a nearby car park, which we did for the weekend. PArking had to ben paid from from 8am. By 8.12 we had a parking ticket.
