The Dean Hotel

We didn't like it.

Liked: Cool vibe due to being an old factory but seems like one of those places that used to be 'factory cool' and is now a bit run down. Location good for downtown dining.
Disliked: Has not rebranded so wasn't even sure I was at the right hotel. Understaffed, no receptionist to greet so you stand around waiting wondering if someone will come. Cafe in lobby but server was over an hour late and the receptionist said 'sorry he's running slightly late today' but an hour or more is not 'slightly'. Free WIFI but awful and couldn't really use. Tiny shower very difficult to use. No amenities. Parking in lot next door convenient but $39.00 for the night.

Would recommend

Liked: Friendly helpful reception. Excellent room and really liked the decor of entire hotel.

Liked: The employees are very nice and answered all my questions with patient! Highly recommend this place to stay! ❤️
Disliked: If it offers free breakfast and coffee, then it would be perfect! As you know, morning coffee starts your day.

Disliked: No warning that it was completely inaccessible to people with mobility challenges and there was nobody there to help.

Disliked: Not a hotel, a very expensive hostel. Tiny room, no amenities, no coffee, ice available. Booked three nights, one was all I could take. Moved to an adjacent 3* hotel which had a kitchen in the room, a free breakfast and an onsite restaurant. The Dean, with no amenities in room, or onsite facilities (at least on the day that I stayed there - the "cafe" by reception was closed") is rated as 4*. Could someone please explain??
