I'd stay elsewhere next time.

Liked: Location was good, easy walk to lots of destinations. Talking Oscar Wilde statue in nearby park was a highlight.
Disliked: Staff was not proactively helpful, even when we obviously had a 91 year old grandmother with us. They were fine when engaged, but there was clearly a lack of interest in the guests. They strongly advised we try the red hop-on-hop-off bus - what terrible advice (slow, infrequent buses, buggy app, you'll waste your day - stay away!). We got home after a long day and the room had not been made up, no new coffees. Finally we had asked for two rooms near each other so the younger adults could help the seniors in the second room, but they put us on two completely different floors. No apology, not even an acknowledgement why this was difficult. At these prices, I expect premium, intelligent and proactive service. Instead the service here was robotic and indifferent.

OK for a one night...

Liked: Hotel is fine - good location - but it isn't a great hotel....
Disliked: Lack of staff. They advertise dining BUT on the night we dined they had one guy on the bar and also doing the watering. None of the tables were cleared. Pretty bad for a hotel of this stature.

Liked: I’ve stayed in the Davenport many times over the years and it still lives to me wanting to return time after time.. on the down side 11am check out I’m not a fan of.. a lovely lady knocked on our door to tell us we’re over the time.. this never happened nor was I aware of this policy.. As I’ve said I’ve stayed their many times dating back 10 or more years
Disliked: Next time I’ll ask for late check out.. and hopefully won’t be an issue.. as I don’t mind paying the extra

Excellent, we would stay with...

Liked: Modern, great location and excellent food in both the breakfast area and restaurant.
Disliked: No indication of the ‘7’ for room numbers on the room card - this caused confusion as to which floor we were on in the first instance.

Very good

Liked: This hotel is ok. The rooms are clean and the location was close to the city center. The interior design was consistent and the bar was good however some mood lighting would make it even better. Comfy beds with lots of pillows and the cleaning staff was super helpful with any requests.
Disliked: The breakfast was rather bad. Not many options, too much fatty food and the coffee was very watery. I would not recommend it, better find some other options in the pubs nearby.
