Hotel Description
Fresh and brimming with pop-culture kitsch the Curtis a DoubleTree Hotel gives our guests a dose of fun with free Wi-Fi thrown in. The 16-story 336-room hotel is one of our guests' favorites in all of Denver. Each uniquely named floor has a different retro-pop theme (Floor 13 is called 'dun dun dunnnn!'). Rooms are decidedly up-to-date with flat-panel TVs iPod speaker systems and free Wi-Fi. If you can tear yourself away from the retro gift and candy shop you can work out in the fitness room or catch up in the 24-hour business center. The Curtis is about fun and whimsy though so take in the inspired decor and perhaps try a meal at the on-site restaurant. It's 100-percent non-smoking here but feel free to bring Fido along. Valet parking is available. The Curtis a DoubleTree Hotel is located just steps from the action of LoDo (Lower Downtown) Denver's popular entertainment district. Denver Center for the Performing Arts the largest theater complex west of the Mississippi is just a block away. The Sixteenth Street Mall's open-air shopping will satisfy your urge to spend. The City Park is a 10-minute drive east where you'll find the Denver Zoo and the renowned Denver Museum of Nature and Science. It's an easy five-minute walk to the Colorado Convention Center and Denver International Airport is 25 miles away. Note that parking downtown is tough but available for a fee at the hotel.

I took my elderly mother to the Opera and The Curtis made it so much nicer! The room was perfect and the location was as well. Every person we saw that worked there, were nothing but nice and smiling. It was great!

The floor themes are awesome! We loved it and toured each floor to check them all out. Room was very clean and the cookie upon arrival was a nice touch. I'm glad there was a noon check-out time, because the bed was so comfortable.

Liked: Awesome.

Liked: Friendly, upbeat environment. Staff were great. Some of the floors themes were awesome!
Disliked: 16th floor theme needs a revamp or additions. It was lacking compared to the other floors. If it's the Hilton honors floor shouldn't it make the guests feel special?

Trust issue

Liked: Staff were great and the theme of the building
Disliked: Over charging. Billed us more than what I booked here in , if I didn't check my bill, my early booking could have been useless

Stay away and make a...

Liked: A pure loss of money
Disliked: Almost every single thing in this hotel. Practically you are paying 4 times higher to stay in a cheap motel like on the route 66.1- For three nights they kept us in a room with broken AC which was blowing freezing cold air in the room. We put towel on it to cover the AC (See in the photo I shared). I asked for someone to check it first night, an engineer appeared and failed to fix. Next morning I told them to do something, They did nothing and kept us in the same room the second night. Third night I went to reception and said enough is enough and I need to talk to manager. The gentleman sent his security officer to check the room, and he was surprised with the cold air blown from AC. However, when we got back to reception the gentleman in the reception said "I am the manager in duty and the only thing I can do is to give you blankets". When I insisted that this is not acceptable, he threatened me "to kick us out from hotel in the mid night!!!!!" The next morning I talked to the manager (Ms. Alexis) and changed the room for last night. This is a pure failure for a hotel.2- They charged me more on the and I found they have different price somewhere else and I asked for price match with This clearly shows these people are not honest in their business.3- The welcome tray for a 4-person room with two queen beds was in fact for 2-person and we needed to keep asking for coffee and cups. Each time you call the reception for these, you need to remind after an hour because they simply put the phone down and forget about your request! (Except for a young gentleman in reception - I dont want to name the names)4- After they blew up our stay, and I attended two days of the conference with headache, the manager sent us 4 breakfast ticket which we didn't accept. I personally found it offensive.

Disliked: The pillows were hard like bricks. Parking price was on the verge of price gouging.
