Great

Liked: Location very good, food, staff, ambience brilliant. As I had forgotten to mention our limited mobility we were in an attic room , which was lovely but didn’t suit our need. Have been assured there is more suitable accommodation available on request when we book for our next visit

Lovely but not for us.

Liked: The room was clean and comfortable, staff friendly and helpful and the food excellent.
Disliked: We were in one of two rooms above the kitchen and the noise transfer from this very busy area was almost unbearable - in fact it was unbearable as I wouldn’t return. The main noise was from the walk in fridge which was used multiple times per hour between 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. (11.30 the nights we stayed) and was almost always slammed shut. On occasions the room vibrated after the slam! We did report it to the owner who immediately acknowledged the problem but said there was little he could do about it. We suggested asking the staff not to slam the door which, he seemed to think is the only option. Apparently a spring on the door wasn’t an option and although he apologised, he didn’t seem overly concerned. He did kindly give us a £5 discount off the cost of our breakfast which wasn’t included in the room price because we had not booked directly with the accommodation. Another learning point for us!

Well located, friendly, amazing food

Liked: Well located, cosy, breakfast sublime. Staff great particularly lady at breakfast. Ate at restaurant one evening and proper nice, wish I’d been more adventurous than burger (which was delicious) cos starter was fantastic and they clearly know what they’re doing beyond standard pub fare. Would go back.
