Stay before lockdown
Liked: We stayed for just one night in the modern part of the hotel. It was very clean and comfortable, great shower and half bottle of wine & snacks was a lovely touch. Breakfast on Sunday was really good and ingredients were of a very high quality. Plenty of refills for tea & coffee . Will definitely be booking again
Disliked: Other guests having a very loud conversation at 4am in the car park , just below our window . Normally I would have shouted ?shut up? but did not want cause even more of a disturbance to other guests. Not the hotels fault

Lovely historic inn in a...
Liked: Reception staff excellent. Breakfast very good. Decent. comfortable room.
Disliked: Only one bath towel for a double. A little more imagination could have gone into allowing residents to use the bar/get drinks.

There is room for improvement...
Liked: My room had a very comfortable bed and the shower was powerful and hot.
Disliked: At breakfast the fried eggs were rushed i.e. one hard the other soft and the sausages were warm not hot. I sent them back to be heated. The room was missing bath towels and a TV controller. Just a lack of attention to the little things that make the difference between a good experience and an excellent experience

Hard-boiled poached eggs.
Liked: The location is good. Old Amersham is delightful. The reception staff were very helpful. The room itself was visually appealing. The bathroom was also nice.
Disliked: The room was not cleaned brilliantly. Some areas were still dusty and there were cobwebs by the bedside tables.
The tv remote didn?t have a working ?guide? option, which isn?t helpful when the hotel has a non-standard order to channels.
Additionally, breakfast was very underwhelming. We had to send back all of our food as the poached eggs were ?hard-boiled poached eggs?. The hollandaise sauce had also spilt on two dishes. The waiting staff were a little defensive about this. The food simply shouldn?t have been sent out.
