Superb

Overpriced for experience.

Liked: Staff were brilliant. Best breakfast so far in Europe. Fluffy towels. Great location.pix
Disliked: Tired building and room. Stairs thread bear. Slopping bedroom floor. Bed mattress thin and old. Paintwork needed doing in room and hall. Old building smell.

Staff and food good however...

Liked: Breakfast was good.
Disliked: Air conditioning compressor right outside Room 8's window so on the hottest day had to sleep with windows SHUT because if noise!!!

Very good on the whole...

Liked: the room and the meals.
Disliked: the R and B event that took place at the pub from 3.00pm to 11.30pm. We were not informed by the management of the hotel that this was taking place. We have stayed there many times in the last nine years and this was, by far, the most disappointing.

Liked: Friendly staff. Liked the character of an old building. Central location

Could have been better for...

Liked: Location was good for the centre of Abingdon.
Disliked: Room was rather worn - the decor was very worn and the carpets could do with a deep clean. Breakfast was a bit complicated with it being available to the general public.

Disliked: Carpets were old and dirty. The window in our room did not close and there was a 10cm gap which meant the noise from the passing traffic was audible.
