Nice Hotel with great staff

Liked: Great location, nice room, exceptional staff. Great breakfast.
Disliked: Corridors and common areas looked a little tired. Quality and friendliness of the staff more than make up for it.

Liked: Has character being of an age.
Disliked: Decor tired, carpets ripped and dangerous. Stairs to our room steep and winding. Needs a deal of tlc. Staff inefficient at check in and restaurant. Bed uncomfortable and no hot water in morning. Had dinner in hotel and food only fair. Breakfast staff in restaurant took age to serve and had to be chased to provide food. Request at chek in to split bill not honoured. Difficult to recommend.

Characterful hotel with plenty of...

Liked: Really good location, easy to find, next to all town centre amenities and river Thames a 2 minute walk. Plenty of space to sit inside and outside. Ate in restaurant for dinner and breakfast, service very good and we all enjoyed the food and felt it was good value for money. The building was full of character and history, wonky floors and doors really were part of the experience. We are definitely going to stay there again

Liked: Have stated before and once again attentive staff. A new group has taken over the hotel and they are intending to upgrade the rooms.
Disliked: Cannot really think of anything.

Liked: Lovely location near the river and town centre.
Disliked: There was no hot water in the shower which we reported on check out and didn’t really receive an apology. Decor of room would have been great but the wallpaper was hanging off the walls in parts.
