We are bitterly disappointed with...

Liked: Did not stay in this property
Disliked: We were advised by others on arrival in Stratford that It was closed earlier this year due to the passing of the manager. This explained why we were getting no replies to our telephone messages and emails in the week prior to the booking. We sincerely hope that the booking fee of £421 was which was deducted from our Visa account will be refunded immediately.

Liked: This property was not available when we got there and had not been trading as a business for several months.
Disliked: There was a significant lack of communication between the owner and booking.com

Liked: Breakfast was amazing. Room was great. Lovely to have such a beautifully comfy four-poster bed.
Disliked: The bathroom. Found it very difficult to operate the shower and kept flooding the bathroom no matter how hard we tried not to.

OK value for money, but...

Liked: Great location and friendly host. Good en-suite shower room with two basins, plenty of room. Plenty of off-road parking close to the town centre, where hotels usually charge extra for this.
Disliked: Very uncomfortable (hard) bed, neither of us slept well. Breakfast only available between 8-9 was a bit early for us, especially around New Year. Not a great choice for breakfast.

Great location to the town...

Liked: Host was lovely and friendly. Great location. Clean and comfortable bed.
Disliked: It could do with updating and a good deep clean (built up dust in radiators), but didn't deter us from our comfortable stay
