Clean, recently remodeled hotel

Liked: Breakfast for $5/person was a great option!
Disliked: I don't think the beds in the room were queen sized beds. They were definitely closer to double size, and were a tight squeeze for my husband and I.

Don’t accept an even numbered...

Liked: The room was spacious and nicely appointed. The hotel itself, lobby, facilities, was more upscale than most choice hotels. Bed was comfy. Nice fluffy towels and the hotel provided 4 towels for a king room.
Disliked: The hotel sits next to Route 68. In the even numbered rooms which are on the highway side there is constant road noise. Ordinarily I wouldn’t be too upset by this but I specifically mentioned it at the front desk and they put us in a ‘road noise’ room anyway. Also the cell service in our room was sketchy to non existent which wouldn’t be a big deal but internet service was also nonexistent in this room. So we needed to use hot spots to connect. Which is hard to do with no cell service. You also have to pay $5pp for breakfast. Breakfast is the same stuff you get at any Choice Hotel but presented a little nicer. I rarely say this but I wouldn’t book this hotel again. Stay somewhere else. If you do decide to stay here insist on a room away from the highway and check cell/internet service before you accept your room. We weren’t offered to move because they said they were fully booked.

Don' have high expectations and...

Liked: Location - was on the way to somewhere else. Bed was comfy.
Disliked: Could hardly open the door. One towel was completely frayed all down one side - I mean come on. That would be in my rag bag at home! Face washers were thin, one had a hole and not clean. No kettle. No tea. Did not alert this guest that breakfast ended at 9:30 and no guest folder with easy to source info. No food on site after breakfast excet a pretty lean 'pantry'. This hotel is presented on line as if it is high end of medium. I would say it is low end of medium at best. High end of low at worst.

Enjoyed our stay, would recommend...

Liked: The rooms were clean, equipped with a couch and small kitchen area, as well as a balcony to sit outside and enjoy the evening. We traveled for our daughters' graduation from WVU so it was close to the coliseum. The restaurant next door was fabulous, especially sitting outside under the trees and on the golf course. The bed was comfortable. Highly recommend to others and will stay here when our 2nd daughter graduates from WVU in 2 years.
Disliked: The young lady working the front desk on Saturday evening checked us out for a few snacks from the snack bar area behind the front desk. She went to give my husband change but he kindly told her that she could keep it, it was for her. She just turned around and put the cash in the drawer and never said thank you or acknowledged his kindness. I just thought that was a little rude. Everything else was 5 stars.
