Why Concert-goers love it

The Craigmyle Inn is ideally located for music fans who want to be close to downtown Victoria’s top live music venues without staying right in the noise. After the encore, guests can retreat to a quiet, residential area that’s still within walking distance or a short cab ride from the action. While there's no 24-hour front desk, flexible self-check-in and peaceful surroundings make it easy to come back and unwind late.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for affordable, character-filled rooms
  • Solo travelers attending a bucket-list concert
  • Couples planning a relaxing post-show weekend
  • Fans who value peace and quiet after a high-energy night out
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who want charm without big hotel prices

Food and Drink Options

While The Craigmyle Inn doesn’t offer on-site dining, it features a shared guest kitchen and BBQ facilities, perfect for late-night snacks or casual meals. Guests are just a short walk or drive to downtown eateries, many of which stay open late. It’s worth noting there’s no breakfast service on-site, but several cozy cafés nearby make for an easy and delicious morning bite after a late night.

Nightlife Options

You're just minutes from downtown Victoria’s live music bars, intimate lounges, and local pubs. Whether you're catching a show or exploring the post-concert scene, the city’s nightlife is easily accessible. Back at the inn, enjoy a glass of wine on the peaceful garden terrace or unwind in the common lounge with other travelers.

What People Say

Reviews highlight the inn’s quiet, homey atmosphere, friendly staff, and clean, uniquely decorated rooms. Guests love the heritage charm, the proximity to the castle and downtown, and the ability to cook or relax in common areas. Many mention the excellent value for money and peaceful setting after a busy day.

Areas for Improvement

The inn doesn’t have an elevator, so be prepared to navigate some stairs—something to keep in mind if you’re traveling with lots of gear. Also, some rooms don’t have TVs, which is great if you’re unplugging but worth noting if you want to wind down with a movie.

The Bottom Line

For music fans who want a quiet, affordable, and character-filled stay near Victoria’s concert venues, The Craigmyle Inn is a charming and restful choice.

Quiet, comfortable stay and great...

Liked: We stayed in a "suite" room which was spacious w/ a small kitchenette. The beds were a bit soft for our liking but we still had good, restful sleeps. It's a very quiet neighborhood.
Disliked: We didn't have the breakfasts because the options were limited. There's only bread (croissant), fruit and bacon provided as breakfast foods. If eggs were provided and served, we would have had breakfast at the B&B/Inn.Upon initial check-in, there was a strong old, musty smell throughout the inside of the building. In our suite, there was a strong lavender smell (fragrance?). After opening the windows to air-out the room, the fragrance smell was gone.

Superb

Liked: The accommodation was great. The bed was comfortable. The garden suite had everything you needed.
Disliked: The street parking was difficult to find at times. I felt that if I stayed out too late, there would be no parking available.

Superb

Liked: Guests could use the guest kitchen and prepare their own breakfast and snacks as required. The guest lounge was great for relaxing in the evenings.
Disliked: As the property had warned, there were a lot of steps to climb both inside and outside the building, but I can't complain since that had been explained to us ahead of time. Also the property was a bit further out of town than we had expected, so it wasn't possible to walk into town.

Old world, relaxing, very comfortable...

Liked: Breakfast was lovely, eggs, bacon, croisant, orange slices - perfectRoom- elegant and so comfortable. Bed was exactly what we like. Firm but so comfortable. There is no phone or TV which made it even BETTER!! It was like stepping into Downton Abby!
Disliked: Just an observation. It would be better if the person giving the orientation would talk a little slower and take a little more time. There were 4 of us on the mini tour and not all of us were able to catch the blurb before she was on to another aspect. Some of the areas IE hallway and service area were too small for us to all fit in so some info was missed. She was very plesant and information - just too fast.

Very good

Liked: Beautiful house, and comfortable bed. Great location next to the castle. Good value for money.
Disliked: Didn’t see the staff at all. The self check in felt a bit strange. Not very good soundproofing - could hear doors opening and closing and people talking and using taps in other rooms.
