I would probably not stay...

Liked: Cozy, outdoor area was chill
Disliked: It took a really really long time to check in as you had to text your ID and the owner clearly didn’t check is phone regularly. It would have been okay if he did, but I wasn’t the only one that had to wait for a long time. The bottom bunk is really low compared to other hostels and I kept hitting my head.

Good if you speak French

Liked: Hostel was very clean and most of the guests were also easy to get along with
Disliked: The manager is never there and does not reply to your messages, so good luck if you have any issues or are moving rooms when you’re there because he won’t help you at all unless you speak French

Liked: The Cozy Hostel is really cool. It's small and VERY clean. Bathrooms are cleaned twice a day or more and they're always in good condition. You have 2 toilets and 2 showers in each floor so there is always a free bathroom somewhere. We had a private room with own fridge (amazing!). I loved the outside kitchen. It was not very big, but there is another kitchen upstairs so it doesn't get too crowded. Also the chill area is beautiful with comfortable couches, the atmosphereis friendly and relaxed. The bed was comfortable as well. All in all I really loved it and we also had a special price for our room so it was really great.
Disliked: When I made the reservation I got a text with the self check-in instructions. They also offered to send a list of free things to do in Darwin and other things. I replied to the message with a couple of questions and accepting the list but I got no answer. I sent another message the day after and I got a reply to 1 of my questions but not the list and not to the other questions. Then I texted the owner and I got the answers so It was nice. I know we're all busy but since there is no reception and face-to-face interaction I think it's important to be reactive on the phone. Also the room had no furniture to stock clothes etc. That was not a big problem for a few nights and we had the private fridge so we were ok with that!

Liked: This is a lovely hostel, with everything that a traveller could need, and very friendly staff who make every effort to help their guests with literally any issue! I stayed in both a private room - which I considered to be very good value, and had a fridge, which is always useful - and one of the female dormitories, which was obviously even better value, and came with a storage locker, and adequate access to plug sockets and AC, etc.

Liked: Nothing.
Disliked: It was old and dated. The room was too small with old rickety beds and lockers. The doors throughout the property didn’t shut properly so people were slamming them to shut them, slippy floors throughout!
