Lovely stay. Friendly staff. would...

Liked: We had dinner & breakfast, both were lovely. Gorgeous day, so able to soak up the sun on there rather nice sun terrace
Disliked: Whilst the room was lovely, it was very hot & also quite noisy from the kitchen below.

Cosy.

Liked: Everything. I've been coming to this hotel for years but never had the chance to stay. My family have. We had a room with a view which was lovely and the window opened which was good as it was quite warm and there was a fan. The room was lovely and had an excellent view. The bathroom was nice even though I miss hotels no longer having baths. Dinner and breakfast was excellent. It's such a cosy pub. Location as always is a dream for a walk in all weathers. I had to do some work during my breakfast and we were not rushed at all and I loved being able to linger over breakfast without rushing as check out was 12.00. Helpful staff. We look forward to going back again.
Disliked: Nothing.

One night stay

Liked: The pub is situated in a lovely position overlooking the Cow and Calf rocks. It is not walkable into Ilkley in my opinion but I did see Uber cars dropping and picking up.The check in is at the end of the bar and worked smoothly, although I had called about an early check in and nobody answered or responded to my voicemail which was a little disappointing. The rooms are upstairs so you need to be OK with steps, but they are modern, large and well equipped. The room we had was dual aspect so we had all 4 windows open for a lovely airy feel.
Disliked: The breakfast was decent but lacked any real customer care, the staff were preoccupied with cleaning and setting up the bar. The food was OK but was expensive at £12.75 and missed some extra touches such as toast to follow the cooked breakfast. The price of one night was over £130 so not cheap but it was overall reasonable value. I'd just have liked the hotel side of the business to be given a little more focus, it's clearly a distraction for the pub team.
