Liked: Frank was an amazing hotel concierge! He was attentive and caring for our visit as we were there for a funeral. The room was comfortable and just what we needed and more. He stayed in contact with us throughout the day and made sure we felt welcomed. Will definitely be back to see the Courtland Hotel and spa for a longer stay next time.
Disliked: I liked everything.

More interesting than a chain...

Liked: Very nice historical building dating from 1903 I believe. The refit to a hotel is nice. The downtown area is quaint and comfortable with several restaurants in easy walking distance. The locals that we came across were friendly and the owner was very informative and friendly. Everything was working well, there is an attached spa that the owners run if a relaxing treatment is wanted.
Disliked: You can eat too many $1 tacos on taco Tuesday and have to walk back to the hotel from the Mexican restaurant . There isn’t an elevator and I think all rooms are upstairs which was no big deal for us.

Liked: The staff was great, the facility is clean.
Disliked: It is old and has charm, but the electrical outlets couldn't run a CPAP. Lots of extension cords without much power. We got a room with a queen and one double room. The double room was tiny, with a full bed and a twin. The double bed was really worn, we kept rolling to the center. It felt like staying at your grandma's, it was old but clean. The bathroom vanity couldn't hold a hair dryer or make up bag, I tried to use the make-up table in the bedroom but nothing would run my hair dryer, so back to the tiny bathroom.

Liked: We were met with a smile by Frank, owner of the hotel. While we were eating our breakfast, he joined us and gave a lot of history of the Fort Scott area. Very enjoyable.
