The Connally Hotel Downtown Atlanta Ascend Hotel Collection

The food was very nasty; the bed mattress needs to be replaced - the springs were bad in the back. There was a 3 inch streak of bug guts on the ceiling. The room smelled.

Liked: The convenience to the venue.
Disliked: The bed; the morning breakfast and the dirty room.

Rooms were clean and employees were nice and helpful.

Liked: Location.
Disliked: None.

Disliked: A lot of people hanging around the front.

Liked: The amazing staff. Very accommodating given the conditions.
Disliked: Rundown. A/C didn’t work in the first room. The second room we had to get 2 full beds instead of 2 kings like we had paid. A/C wasn’t working as good either. The ceiling in the bathroom was falling. There were pieces everywhere on the tub.

Liked: The room was spacious and clean. The check in clerk, Tamika, and the valet, were very nice and professional! The security guards being around the property were very nice and even showed us how to get to a really good pizza place, Goodfella’s, within walking distance. The ac in the rooms also worked very good! We were on the 12th floor suite with a king bed.
Disliked: Where to start…. You walk into the lobby and you automatically smell marijuana. The smell extended into the elevators and the hallways. Even thought room was spacious and clean, it had a musty smell to it. The hallways were also really hot. Then the loud music coming from Utopia rang through our room all night. I’m all for music, but it sounded like a music festival was right outside our window. The bass literally rattled the curtains. I had to take a Xanax to fall asleep. The tv also would come on but that’s all it did. Also the amount of homeless people walking around was astonishing. Only one homeless man approached us, and he was nice when he asked for change. When we told him all we have is debit cards he kindly went away. There was also 2 security deposits, $80 each, taken out of our bank account. The front desk claimed we will receive it back, but from the amount of reviews I’ve seen regarding money, I don’t see it happening. Needless to say it’s partly my fault. I should have read the reviews.

Liked: The hotel was clean and the staff top notch. I couldn't be more pleased with the staff.
Disliked: The room was stuffy no matter the air setting. We had rented for 5 adults, but there weren't any linens left for 5th sleeping bed. We were able to manage with blankets from home as it was late after a concert when we returned to room and noticed. I'm sure we could have called the front desk but kiddowas crashed already.
