Liked: The staff were fantastic; so helpful and thoughtful and friendly. The service was excellent in all areas of the hotel; the restaurant, bar, the reception. The room was clean and comfortable, the food in the restaurant was excellent. Very good. The facilities were good; bright, colourful, modern and stylish.
Disliked: The location and views; the hotel is in the middle of a lot of busy roads but that’s convenient for some people.

Liked: Comfortable hotel in a suitable location with places to eat nearby. They provided a cot for our 2 year old. Breakfast was excellent.
Disliked: Water in shower was constantly too hot and did not allow for a comfortable shower. The cot was not the most comfortable (no mattress) but thankfully our little one still managed to sleep OK

Good - apart from the...

Liked: Location ideal for the purposes of our visit. Comfortable bed, good restaurant food.
Disliked: The overheated bathroom. The heated mirror & towel rail were on all the time we were in the room, and made the bathroom unbearably hot. There was no way of turning these off, which has cost & environmental implications.

Liked: The hotel was beautiful, with clean and comfortable rooms.

Good but I wasn't keen...

Liked: Clean, modern, good quality breakfast. Friendly staff. Great shower. Reasonable price when booked a few weeks in advance. The older part of the hotel is an attractive art deco building. Close to the Alban Way for walking into St Albans, and only a few minutes drive into St Albans. You couldn't hear people in other rooms/in the corridor.
Disliked: The location, surrounded by busy roads and very near the motorway, made it too noisy for me. I had to use ear plugs at night. Not a very attractive part of Hatfield. Too warm, so had to keep the windows open 24/7. Students are right outside your window if you are in the modern part of the hotel and at the back, and particularly if on the ground floor as we were. Because it was July, there weren't many students around, but I imagine it could be busier/noisier during term time.
