Hotel Description
On the eastern coast of western Scotland's Cowal peninsula The Colintraive enjoys a peaceful village location and has its own pub and restaurant serving local specialties. There is free parking and Wi-Fi at this award-winning Argyll hotel. The elegant guest rooms all have a TV and tea and coffee facilities and have views of the countryside or across to the Isle of Bute. All rooms have an en suite bath or shower with hairdryer and complimentary toiletries. The Colintraive's restaurant offers dishes using local game and fish and the chef's own homemade breads pasta and ice cream. The restaurant enjoys spectacular views of the surroundings and is complemented by a cozy bar and lounge. The ferry to Bute is less than 328 feet from the hotel and the island offers great beaches gardens and the magnificent Mount Stuart Country House and Chapel. There are golf courses on the island and also at Kames which is around 20 minutes away.

Liked: Overall,we had a pleasant stay at the Colintraive Inn. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the co- owner likewise. Our room needed a little TLC,but was acceptable . Our only negative experience was one dinner (out of three) which was to be frank shambolic, a consequence of an extremely busy evening,I think. In fairness,this we were not charged for it and in fact we're offered a drink on the house. The breakfasts were excellent.A decent stay overall and we would definitely return.Show quoted text

Great stay in a fantastic...

Liked: Love the Colintraive! The location is absolutely stunning, the staff are friendly and the food is good. This is the third or fourth time staying over there and it never gets tired.
Disliked: This time around, the food was a little tired - we ate towards the end of the night and you could tell. It wasn't awful by any means, but by the C's usual standards it felt a bit like it had been hanging around for a while. Otherwise, no problems at all.

Hone away from home with...

Liked: Lovely comfortable small in where you are made to feel extremely welcome and nothing is too much trouble. You go for the food and the views, both are exceptional. The menu has something for everyone whilst being compact, the quality of the produce is superb, and worth the wait.Great wine list too.Great night’s sleep.Beautiful sunsets or a rainbow - the weather is not within the owners’ control!
