Disliked: Cleanliness of the rooms were not great, not cleaned properly, really dusty behind the tv, shower screen had marks all over it. Tv kept turning itself off. breakfast was not good at all, some of the cutlery n cups weren’t properly clean. Says there’s a restaurant but there isn’t so had to find somewhere else to eat on the evening, which is probably a gd thing seen as breakfast was awful.. So awful we didn’t bother having breakfast there the 2nd morning! Pictures on booking.com are deceiving, it’s nothing like the pictures. The guys working there are trying to tidy it up ( painting window frames etc) but it needs a lot of work and some decently cooked food.

Disappointing 2 night stay

Liked: The only thing we can say that was positive is the bed was comfortable
Disliked: Lack of staff, only one person on site who was clearly not trained in hospitality and was unable to deal with any of our concerns. Could not immediately find our room as instructions were not sufficient. Facilities in room were not as advertised. TV did not work, no hairdryer, window did not lock, outer door did not lock, bins were dirty as bin liners were not used, toilet roll holder broken, tea and coffee not replenished, window blind not working, carpet dirty.Breakfast was poor standard for £15 per person. Cheap sausages, cheap bread, English breakfast poorly presented. Coffee was instant coffee put in a pot! Requested poached eggs and the only person on site did not know how to make them!!! Any request we made was met with confusion, which led to us being unable to have our needs met.Overall, the management of the place was poor and disorganised. Our stay did not warrant the price we paid.

Room clean, beds comfortable and...

Liked: The breakfast was adequate
Disliked: The difficulty of the stay was due to the friendly but inexperienced member of staff. He explained he was on probation for two weeks to then be considered for further employment. He needed a mentor !! The property is tired and unfortunately looks onto the derelict Otterburn Hall. Initially the room had no towels , no milks and no TV remote the latter was not found . The glass shelf in the bathroom fell off and the door knob on the bathroom door also fell off.

Disliked: From entering the property we were aware the hotel was not fit to welcome guests. Shabby, dirty bedrooms, basic to say the least. Towels old and thin. Paint flaking off ceiling in bedroom dirty windows and sills. Photos made rooms look luxurious.not true reflection of rooms or hotel.Restaurant not open for dinner we had a 10 mile round trip to another local hotel for food. You advertised a restaurant available for meals. We were not offered breakfast although we paid for it.

Siva is a great host....

Liked: Siva - he couldn’t do enough for you. The dining room is spacious and rooms have everything you need. The grounds surrounding the property were very nice.
Disliked: The property was very quirky as it’s an old building some of it was worn down, however Siva is looking to improve day by day.
