Comfortable, good location. The road...

Liked: The location - minutes away from shops, restaurants and the cathedral.
Disliked: Shared toilet on a different floor from where we were staying

overpriced bed and breakfast without...

Liked: good location
Disliked: the cleanliness of the room and facilities is very questionable and far below standards. a lot of weird stains all throughout the room, super squeaky bed, so much dust and hair on the carpet and all other parts of the room. there is a dog on the property, and I assume that a lot of the hairs on the carpet in my room are from the animal. made me question when the room was actually cleaned the last time. the smell wafting up from the restaurant right next door makes spending time in the room (especially in summer) an uncomfortable experience, as it just smells like cheap frying oil and thai food - the scent is clinging to the walls, and as there is no AC, opening up the windows is the only option. as a single woman, i did not feel completely safe and or comfortable staying by myself. only one towel is also a bit challenging. there were constantly people knocking on my door, and even though I had locked it when leaving for the day, I could still tell that someone had gone inside and emptied the bin. I am also not sure why no breakfast was offered even though it is advertised as a bed and breakfast - the notice that this was not happening also came 8 hours after the check-in, not before. I considered checking out early and only stayed as I had prepaid my train ticket the next day.

A very British experience

Liked: Nice room with a shower inside the room and a decorative fireplace. Lots of space.
Disliked: Very narrow bed for two adults. Having the shower in the room is kind of strange, maybe it is a British thing. Water did not flow to the sewer as fast as it flowed from the shower. No way to wash long hair.

Very disappointing

Liked: The bed was comfortable, and the linen was clean. No breakfast was served. Considering I paid the same for my stays both in Colwyn Bay and in Chester which included breakfast in lovely rooms too I did not feel I received value for money. It was close to everything within a short walk which was the only bonus.
Disliked: The room was tiny and cramped. The toilet was black inside the bottom of the toilet bowl. The basin had black around the drain area. The carpet in the bedroom was shabby. I was given one towel that was extremely old there was no hand towel or bathmat, so I climbed out of the shower onto the wet floor for 2 of the 3 days I was there. Outside the window was filthy and even on the windowsill. Considering this was supposed to be a 4-star accommodation I feel it should be lowered to one star!!!!!

I would stay there again

Liked: There was no breakast
Disliked: I had some issue checking that were not the fault of the property. I would have liked the host to reply sooner to my messages and phone call. However the owner was very helpful and patient when he did respond.

Great location, helpful owner.

Liked: Bang in the centre of town. Everything you need within easy walking distance.
Disliked: Check if breakfast is available. However there are plenty of reasonable places to eat within a short distance.
