The Spotlight on The Coach House Bristol

Charming Country Retreat Just Outside the City Buzz

A cozy, character-filled guest house just over 5 miles from central Bristol, The Coach House Bristol blends 18th-century charm with modern comforts. Set in a peaceful countryside spot with scenic views and a welcoming atmosphere, it's a great base for travelers looking to enjoy Bristol’s vibrant music scene without sacrificing a good night’s sleep.

Why Concert-goers love it

You’re close enough to Bristol’s top venues for a short drive or taxi ride, yet far enough to escape the post-gig noise. With free parking and a quiet setting, it's perfect if you’re driving in for a show. The relaxed vibe and comfortable rooms help you unwind after a night of music, and a home-cooked breakfast the next morning is a definite win. While check-in is from 15:00 and check-out by 10:30, the friendly staff are known to be accommodating where possible—just ask!

Who this Hotel is great for

Groups of friends looking for a chilled-out place to crash
Solo travelers ticking artists off their bucket list
Couples turning a gig into a weekend escape
Fans who value a quieter recovery space
Budget-conscious music lovers who still want quality and comfort

Food and Drink Options

A highlight here is the made-to-order breakfast—think cereals, granola, fresh fruit, yogurt, toast, juice, and hot drinks, all served fresh in the morning. While there’s no on-site restaurant for late-night meals, Bristol’s eateries are a short ride away and there are a few pubs nearby if you’re driving. There’s also a lovely courtyard garden to enjoy a quiet drink or snack after the show.

Nightlife Options

While the hotel itself is more of a peaceful retreat, you're not far from Bristol’s buzzing nightlife. Bars, pubs, and live music venues are within a 15-minute drive, giving you plenty of options before or after your concert. The Coach House’s calm setting is the perfect contrast to the city’s energy, ideal for winding down.

What People Say

Guests rave about the friendly service, spotless rooms, and the delicious breakfasts. The peaceful location and historic charm are frequent highlights, with many reviewers appreciating the relaxing environment after a night out. The strong WiFi and comfy beds also get consistent praise.

Areas for Improvement

This isn’t the spot for party animals—the area is quiet, and there's no bar or restaurant on-site. If you're relying on public transport late at night, options are limited, so a taxi or car is best. Also, the early check-out time of 10:30 might feel a bit rushed after a late gig.

The Bottom Line

For concert-goers wanting a peaceful, comfortable stay near Bristol with great breakfasts and easy access to venues, The Coach House Bristol hits all the right notes.

Liked: The Location
Disliked: Damp in the bathroom!Unclean with visable cobwebs!Broken window with cracked glass which we couldn't open!Uncomfortable with the heat and lack of ventilation.Leaving the property early due to being unable to sleep due to the heat.Being told that we should have told them while we were there about the issues without consideration that we had a young baby that would have been disturbed if we had moved rooms etc. When asked to be refunded, we were refused and just thanked for the feedback and told a full investigation of the room would be conducted. The Coach House not realising how serious damp is and how it can affect young children.I now have a unwell daughter with a chesty cough that I will be taking to the Doctor on Monday morning!

Fantastic little gem

Liked: Fantastic little gem. Superbly located for our needs with amble parking. The staff could not have been more accommodating. Rooms were perfectly equipped with all we needed and rooms were spotless. Basic, well priced accommodation in Bristol. It exceeded my expectations and we will definitely be back.

Good location.

Liked: Just outside Bristol but didn’t cost much for an Uber to where we were going for the evening. Free parking. Cooked breakfast was only £10 each.

Basic, not a pleasure for...

Liked: Location and initial appearance’s
Disliked: It was tired and shoddy. The room smelt musty and a bit grubby. Cheap fittings (door handle put on upside down). Ridiculously their Disabled parking bay was NOT by the entrance but near the end of a row of bays THE SAME WIDTH as ordinary bays! No-one using a wheelchair would have room to get in and out. Sink in room cracked. Curtains not clean.
