Wouldn’t go there again

Disliked: There was a hanging glass from the window, bed was wonky, couldn’t put the heating on because it was broken, very dusty

Great staff but poor hotel...

Liked: Staff are helpful and friendly.
Disliked: Rooms and carpets are dirty in main hotel and old external building (new extension rooms, however, are very good). Place needs decorating and a good clean!

It was only one night,...

Liked: It was a lovely old building undergoing refurbishment and extension. However the potential of the property was not recognised and the work appeared shoddy. The car park was fine, and the location good.
Disliked: It was dirty, which made it feel uncomfortable. It was not welcoming although the staff were fine. The priority appeared to focus on the drinking clientele and not on the paying guests. There was only one hanger in the ‘open’ wardrobe, the plumbing was very noisy and sounded like a grinding machine, there was no plug in the wash basin.

Disliked: The room we had was in an annex. The hallway was carpeted but the carpets were dirty . The room we were in,20,was,again,carpeted but wasn’t,t just dirty it was filthy and covered in stains. One of the panes of glass in the window had been broken and filled in with black card,the remaining glass left in the pane still had jagged edges. Window sills were very dirty with signs of damp. The shower was black along edges through mould.The bedding was clean.We were attending a function during the evening. On return, round about midnight and getting ready for bed, my husband noticed that the carpet on his side of the bed was soaking wet, not just damp but wet.On leaving the hotel in the morning I told staff about the wet carpet. They said they knew about this and suspected a leak from bedroom 19. However,the hotel had had difficulty in finding a plumber!I have photo evidence of the above.

Disliked: Dirty old room. Literaly a puddlemon floor by bed. Do dirty i had to put shoes on to get out the mouldy shower.

Disliked: For the money, not much not to like really.
