Dirty and questionable

Liked: Clean sheets and towels. Check in and check out staff were friendly and helpful.
Disliked: The radiator was on in 32 degree heatwave. Shower was full of mould. Shampoo and shower gel was empty. Hand soap was empty and when I tried to use it, the front came off in my hand. Cobwebs. Dirty mugs for tea and coffee. Pub drinkers wolf whistling when I walked past.

Great staff but poor hotel...

Liked: Staff are helpful and friendly.
Disliked: Rooms and carpets are dirty in main hotel and old external building (new extension rooms, however, are very good). Place needs decorating and a good clean!

Poor - 1.5 out of 5

Elaine Tue, 24 June 2025

It was only one night,...

Liked: It was a lovely old building undergoing refurbishment and extension. However the potential of the property was not recognised and the work appeared shoddy. The car park was fine, and the location good.
Disliked: It was dirty, which made it feel uncomfortable. It was not welcoming although the staff were fine. The priority appeared to focus on the drinking clientele and not on the paying guests. There was only one hanger in the ‘open’ wardrobe, the plumbing was very noisy and sounded like a grinding machine, there was no plug in the wash basin.
