Underwhelming, the hotel is trying...

Liked: Bed was comfortable and cleanMan behind the bar (owner/manager?) was lovely!Great character property.Room size is good.
Disliked: The room was not up to basic cleanliness let alone what I would expect from a hotel. Floor was not hoovered and carpet is old and dirty. Bins in the room come with no liner and we're still full of prior guests rubbish! Asked for a bin bag to remove this ourselves and got told no. Basic deeper dusting and cleaning would be great on the door textures, bathroom amenities and skirting boards as they were covered in old dust and build up. Bathroom was fairly clean other than the mold on the shower tiles and in the calk. It needs to be treated with mold spray, caulk needs replacing and a general good scrub of the tiles and fixtures to get rid of the black mold! The man I presume to be the owner or manager was lovely and welcoming. The staff were nice people but a little slow to offer assistance for any issues. Overall it is a lovely pub with some great character and lovely sized rooms. The pub experience is great, amazing atmosphere and some nice regulars! BUT the staff let it down by being unbothered by the hotel guests and the hotel cleaners are not doing a good enough general room change clean after each guest (coming from an ex hotel receptionist and cleaner who is only in their early 20's).
