Creative Comfort in Portland’s Artsy West End

Modern, eclectic, and full of local flavor, The Clyde Hotel Portland by Kasa is a design-forward boutique hotel in downtown’s vibrant West End. Just steps from the Pearl District and minutes from Portland’s most iconic music venues, this 78-room hotel blends vintage charm with artistic flair. Each room features hand-painted murals, Mascioni linens, and either a private or shared bathroom—perfect for travelers seeking style, location, and flexibility without breaking the bank.

Why Concert-goers love it

Set in Portland’s cultural core, The Clyde Hotel is a short walk or quick ride-share from top music venues including the Crystal Ballroom and Roseland Theater. The area is lively but not overly noisy, offering a comfortable retreat after a high-energy night out. With flexible room options and free Wi-Fi, it's easy to split costs with friends or stream that encore performance one more time. Check-in starts at 4:00 PM, and you'll have until 11:00 AM to check out—plenty of time to sleep in after a late show.

Who this Hotel is great for

- Groups of friends traveling on a budget but still craving style

- Budget-conscious concertgoers who don’t want to compromise on location or vibe

Food and Drink Options

Start or end your evening with a locally roasted pick-me-up from Water Avenue Coffee, located right inside the hotel. Next door, grab a hearty bite at Los Burros Burritos, perfect for pre-show fuel or post-show cravings. While there’s no on-site restaurant, the hotel is surrounded by walkable dining options that stay open late. Need a lie-in? Local breakfast spots nearby are open late enough for a leisurely morning meal.

Nightlife Options

Whether you’re headed to a nearby concert hall or just exploring, the West End puts you close to Portland’s buzzing nightlife. Within blocks, you’ll find live music venues, cozy cocktail lounges, and craft breweries that stay open well past encore. While the hotel doesn’t host live music itself, its location makes it the perfect launchpad—or landing pad—for a music-filled night.

What People Say

Guests rave about the hotel’s unique decor and artsy vibe, often noting how the murals and vintage details make each room feel special. The location gets top marks—walkable to everything from Powell’s Books to the Portland Art Museum. Reviews also highlight the friendly staff, clean rooms, and excellent value for a downtown stay.

Areas for Improvement

Some travelers mention that rooms with shared bathrooms may not be ideal for everyone, so it's worth double-checking your room type. Also, while there’s no elevator, staff is happy to assist with luggage if mobility is a concern.

Superb

Liked: Beautiful and not too expensive. This is a quirky but beautiful hotel in the middle of Portland. The checkin could be done 100% online and the vibe was really nice. Also, super clean!
Disliked: Noisy but, you’re in the middle of the city so…

well situated, lots of bars...

Liked: Well situated for the bars and restaurants of downtown Portland. Just a few blocks from the station serviced by the airport train, so easy to get to. Very comfortable bed, ablutions were great, reception very helpful and friendly, adjacent coffee bar with on tap local beer a must.
Disliked: Road noise.

It was fine.

Liked: Nice quiet room
Disliked: Was disappointed that corporate had got rid of the partnership deal with another hotel for the use of its fitness center. Was a little sad that the free breakfast nook was got rid of by corporate, as well. Neither of these was the staff's fault.

We enjoyed our stay at...

Liked: The hotel is well located, all staff members are very friendly and the room was nice and clean. They suggested a good parking option, since they don’t have a own garage. They looked after our luggage after check-out for free!
Disliked: No own garage.

Abusive and uncaring, everything is...

Liked: After my experience there, nothing good to say, beware if you're tired of dealing with AI and robotic humans who follow their script , think very carefully on staying here. The area is not safe, an employee told me they had a stabbing a week prior only a block away. It's filled with homeless people. Very sad but overwhelming and I live in Manhattan. I had a lightbulb out at the work station, it took 3 days for them to change it. Their own employee recommended I buy my own lightbulb for it would be faster than to wait for them to change it. .
Disliked: The cleaning staff. Kind and courteous and understanding
