Location location, smarten up the...

Liked: Super location, great sea view, very efficient check-in/out. Parking within a 100 yards.
Disliked: The room wasn't properly cleaned. A blue and an orange M&M under a sofa, Cobwebs all over the window frames. The showerhead in the bath is too low to stand under for a reasonably tall person. I had to do some plumbing to make the toilet flush. The blue chair hasn't got a spring anymore, you basically make a steep drop when you sit down, this could easily injure your back. You can only open the middle window about 10 inches max. The room just looks really "tired". But it wouldn't cost a fortune to make it look really beautiful and comfortable.

Disappointing for the price

Liked: Great location on the sea front
Disliked: The rooms were pretty basic and not worth the price we paid. The single beds were tiny and not very comfortable. Our fridge was broken. The rooms are also quite loud as you can hear the doors slam from the corridor and upstairs when people are moving around at all hours!

Interesting hotel. Very convienient for...

Liked: It was in a fabulous location, our room was suite was comfortable and as described. Some small niggles.lovely big suite
Disliked: The reception was based up a steep flight of stairs. With a small entrance hall, where would you leave your luggage to locate your room? Small matter of no mat to step out of the shower onto, we were given a extra hand towel which worked, but this not replaced on our second night with no one to ask for one when we got back after our day out, and only our bath towels resupplied and no hand towels spare to use on the floor. The hot water to the fabulous shower was very hot, we like this temperature but it didn’t seem possible to reduce the heat setting downward. No ability to open windows in this ground floor suite, but air conditioning unit did the job on a hot night. There could have been space for a small couch to relax on in the Addelam suite.

Good stay, excellent view of...

Liked: A quirky hotel spread across three old buildings. Sea and pier just across road, excellent view. Room well equipped and clean. Microwave, fridge and bowls, plates and cutlery in room as well as coffee machine. No full time reception so you get sent digital code to get in. No parking but public car park close by. About £12 for 24 hrs although not certain about parking for longer.
Disliked: Full window to floor, felt a bit exposed as although on 1st floor heads of people walking on pavement close to hotel could be seen. Maybe some net curtains would have helped. But only a minor point.

Nice "hotel", but limitations should...

Liked: The bed was comfy, the room was mostly clean, the staff were pleasant. Parking was easy behind the hotel. The views from the bedrooms were good.
Disliked: We booked with our 92 year old aunty before realising there were no ground floor rooms, however we had no option as the cancellation period had passed. No lift or alternative method to get her up the stairs apart from a very slow, nerve racking climb. The reception is on the 1st floor, the smell of human sweat was intoxicating as we climbed the stairs, only to find once descending another set of steps into her room that her bathroom was up 3 more steps! A frightening thought for her if she needed the facilities late at night. The only shower is in the bath, so it was too dangerous for her to shower. A good old fashioned sink wash was the only option. The only food onsite was an Indian restaurant and no breakfast available. We were not offered any continental breakfast trays and this had to find breakfast elsewhere, meaning yet another walk for this and her evening meal. The bath in the sunrise suite was dirty, with patches of grime around the base, this needed some good cleaning products and some elbow grease to remove it. The washing products had been refilled, but then the pump caps had been locked, so when in the shower with wet hands, it was impossible to unlock them. Attention to detail....this is an easy check that they work before finishing housekeeping. I had to unscrew the whole lid to try and get something out of the bottles. Very over priced for what you get, we travel a lot and we were expecting something outstanding for the price we paid but sadly we were disappointed. It should have been much clearer at the point of booking that access is challenging for the less mobile and there was limited options for food within the hotel.
