A rare gem of a...

Liked: The Claremont is a delight. Set in a quiet location yet just minutes from the harbour, beach, pubs & restaurants, it has free parking (a rarity in Polperro). The room was spotless and very comfortable. It had a mini fridge with some fresh milk to go with the tea & coffee provided. The bed was v comfortable and a good sleep was further enabled by the provision of a fan. There was also iron with ironing board, toiletries and hairdryer. The staff were excellent; cheerful, really helpful, really professional. The hotel has a beautiful lounge with a well-stocked honestly bar of drinks & snacks, and complimentary hot drinks. They also had a book exchange service there with a good selection of books. There’s a comfortable outdoor seating area which we enjoyed after dinner near the harbour, making good use of the bar. Would definitely return, this is a rare gem. 10/10, thank you.

Liked: Breakfast was very good and the selection was amazing. The staff fantastic.The location is ideal. Halfway to the harbour and the dedicated parking opposite fantastic.

Liked: The staff were absolutely lovely. Breakfast was very good with a great selection.
Disliked: We had a small double room. Not a lot of room in Bathroom and small sink made it difficult to shave.

A peaceful and friendly place

Liked: Very friendly and helpful staff, though access to check in is a small window of 2 hours (notified ahead of our stay).Parking was great as the town is very small and not really suitable for vehicles. Very quiet and comfortable room with a lovely sitting room to read of an evening. Honesty bar a nice touch. Breakfast was great and service impeccable.
Disliked: Bathroom (in particular the toilet) was in a tiny space but the rest of the bathroom was good for the room size. The town practically shuts down at 4. Only a few places open for dinner but the area is quiet if you’re looking for a tranquil escape. Nearby Looe might be a future prospect for more options

Liked: Centrally located in Polperro with a car park
Disliked: Having to carry a key attached to a large wooden key fob. Did not operate a door card system.
