Great place to stay
Liked: Proximity to the lake and beach, city center, and dining. Staff were very friendly.
Disliked: Toilets are a little outdated and could use some improvements on exhaust and ventilation.

Passable
Liked: Location was great, staff were very friendly!it had good aircon.
Disliked: This property is in serious need of an update. Everything is out dated, hot water wasn’t working at certain points and the morning we checked out the water wouldn’t turn on at all. All the blankets, hair dryers etc are bought from kmart so gone bally after a few washes, as expected. The walls are paper thin it just seriously needs a refurb. Also the lagoon water outside the property is very dirty.

Comfortable stay with room for...
Liked: We took a quick trip up the coast for our anniversary and a relaxing weekend getaway. The courtesy call on our drive up to confirm the check-in process was a thoughtful touch, especially in case of late arrival.Breakfast at the onsite restaurant, Maccoa, was included in our room package and allowed us to order freely from the menu (drinks not included). We opted for the big breakfast, which was easily adjusted for dietary needs. Unfortunately, the food was under-seasoned and presented with little care. To top it off, there was no breakfast available on our second morning due to early closing. However, the coffee was a standout—smooth, rich, and genuinely enjoyable. Our room came with basic but clean amenities: a microwave, kettle, toaster, and bar fridge. The bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable, and the private balcony overlooking the lagoon added a lovely, tranquil touch. Streaming access was available on the TV (if you remember your login details). The downside? No chance of a sleep-in—the onsite restaurant sets up for breakfast right outside, so you’ll hear every conversation. There are kayaks and paddle boards for hire if you’re keen on some lagoon activity. At $275 a night over the Easter long weekend, we expected more—especially from the bathroom. While the room itself was tidy, the bathroom felt neglected. Stained toilet, rusty fixtures, no fan (hello, morning sauna), and a shower that required my 6’1” husband to duck. That said, the shower water pressure was excellent—like a mini massage.Would we stay here again? Yes. The location and bed comfort won us over. But would we call it a four-star experience? Not quite. With a bathroom refresh and more consistent service, it could easily reach that level. For now, we’d call it a solid 3.5-star stay. way.
